Cost Of Beef

Our Health Care system is broken. Wait times, delays, shortages, apparent financial waste – do you agree?

Our Education system is broken. Teacher shortages, classroom sizes, lack of sufficient supports, student loans – do you agree?

The Alberta/Canadian Justice system is broken. One law for us – one law for them, criminals getting less punishment then activists, Bill of Rights conditions disappearing, “Against the greater public good” interpretations harm Canadians – do you agree?

The “System” is dividing citizens. Immigration policy, Indigenous Rights, Inclusiveness, Media transparency – do you agree?

The cost of living is completely out of hand. Groceries, Utilities, Insurance, Fuel, Medicine – do you agree?

The cost of doing business is rediculous. Massive increase in material cost, insurance, transportation, labor, red-tape – do you agree?

There’s more, but for now just stop there. Instead of screaming about how we are being improperly supported, let’s just say the World, as we know it sure as hell appears broken.

Not that long ago I was discussing with a friend of mine the lack of affordability for buying meat. Simple. It’s too expensive. And the rabbit hole he took me down was mind blowing. The first formula he explained was multiplying levels of Cost, Carbon Tax, & GST. Profit has always been a part of every business. Now apply it to the Rancher, the Slaughterhouse, the butcher, the transportation/storage, the grocery store. Stop. We aren’t mentioning the added costs of more Vet visits or inspectors and who pays for that red tape at every level. Just those 5. As costs go up at each level, combined with GST and Carbon Taxes they are added at each level, until it finally gets to the consumer.

Then the conversation went to some ungodly components. I’m not talking about spirituality, I’m talking about brand new industries. Fake meat. Lab created meat. So I checked….why would anyone spend the time, effort, and of course the research funding to create meat from a lab? So I Googled it. Animal Welfare. Wow. Let that sink in. It sizzles like steak, tastes like steak, but…. Its not meat is a combination of…. All that effort for the sake of “animal welfare”.

I’m not kidding you. That’s the justification.

Then he added supply and demand. Now that hurt my head. I assume as Canada’s population grows, the demand for meat would grow. However as Canada has land, and lots of it, and Bulls do what Bulls do, and Cows have calves, I have to say I was surprised to be reminded that different levels of Government limit the number of cattle on a piece of land, and, which land is allowed to have cattle. This is where the Government spends its time and money. Limiting Bulls and what Bulls and Cows do naturally for the sake of Animal Welfare.

My friend was way more well spoken on the process. The details and examples of … the systemic break down of increased meat prices and the level of participation in those increased prices Government has.

As a Canadian who absolutely loves meat & potatoes. The smell of steak BBQ’ing in the summer on an open grill – ummm – What the Hell?

And their wild process didn’t stop there. You know how some Alberta dairy farmers are throwing out about 30% of their milk production? Have you heard about that? And now – now they have the same lab created milk. Seriously. Instead of milking the cows and shipping it, citizens are paying upwards of $6 a gallon, and now we have lab grown whole milk?

Examine the list at the top. Do you see a similar game plan being used? You should. And it should scare the heck out of you enough to make you mad from the sheer manipulation of our lives by “those guys”.
